Delhi High Court Denies Anticipatory Bail to Officer’s Children in Sexual Assault Case
The Delhi High Court has declined to grant anticipatory bail to the children of suspended Delhi government officer Premoday Khakha, who are accused of abetting the sexual assault of a minor girl. Khakha’s daughter and son sought anticipatory bail, which was previously denied by a trial court. Justice Saurabh Banerjee stated, “I have dismissed the application at this stage.”
The court had previously taken suo motu cognizance of the case against Khakha and his wife, who allegedly gave the minor medicine to terminate her pregnancy. The accused are residents of Shakti Enclave in the Burari area and are accused of repeatedly raping the minor between 2020 and 2021. A case was registered under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and the Indian Penal Code against the accused.
