Delay in Vyttila Mobility Hub Renovation Draws Criticism

The delay in completing the renovation work at the Vyttila Mobility Hub (VMH) by Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML) has drawn sharp criticism. Commuters using bus, metro, and water metro services are facing difficulties due to the incomplete renovation, with the monsoon just a month away. Councillor Sunitha Dixon criticized CSML for failing to ensure timely completion of the work.

She expressed concern about the safety of commuters and the possibility of waterlogging if culverts are not built soon. Residents and commuters have raised their voices against the delay, demanding urgent action from CSML to complete the pending work before the onset of the monsoon. Sources in VMH also suggested that CSML could have terminated the contractor and invited fresh tenders to expedite the renovation work.
