Death Toll Rises to 44 in Alleged Suicide Blast at JUI-F Convention in Pakistan

The death toll from an alleged suicide blast at a Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) workers’ convention in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province has tragically increased to 44, as confirmed by officials. The incident occurred on Sunday in Bajaur district’s Khar town, near the Afghanistan border, where more than 400 JUI-F members and supporters had gathered under a tent.

KP Inspector General of Police, Akhtar Hayat Khan, revealed that the blast was caused by 10 kg of explosives. Ball bearings and other explosive materials were also recovered from the site, indicating the severity of the attack. An ongoing investigation aims to apprehend the culprits responsible for the heinous act.

Bajaur District Health Officer, Faisal Kamal, reported that over 150 injured individuals were rushed to the Bajaur District Headquarters Hospital for urgent medical attention. The authorities are actively working to provide aid and support to the affected victims and their families.
