Death Toll in Israel-Hamas Conflict Rises to Over 2,500

The Israel-Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip has now continued for six days, with a rising death toll on both sides. Israel’s state-owned Kan TV news reported over 2,500 deaths in the Gaza Strip. The Health Ministry said 3,268 people were injured, with 443 still in hospitals, as search efforts continued to find bodies in southern towns and villages.

On the other side, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported at least 1,203 Palestinians killed and 5,763 injured since Israel’s bombardment began. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs stated that 218,597 displaced individuals were sheltering in UNRWA schools, with densely populated areas heavily targeted, leading to casualties among the elderly, women, and children.

Numerous Palestinian families have had all their members killed, and thousands of housing units have been destroyed or damaged.
