In a significant anti-Naxal operation in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, a fierce encounter resulted in the deaths of eight Naxalites and one security officer. The gunfight erupted in the dense forests of Abhujmad while the team comprising District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), and the 53rd battalion of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was conducting operations against Naxal insurgents. The exchange of fire continued for hours, highlighting the intensity of the clash and the challenges faced in combating Naxal violence in the region. Authorities are continuing efforts to secure the area and maintain order following the skirmish.
