Dalit Teen Strangled to Death for Resisting Advances in Madhya Pradesh
In a tragic incident in the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, a 17-year-old Dalit girl was strangled to death by a man after she resisted his advances. The victim, identified as Kajal Rawat, was found dead under a mahua tree in her backyard. The accused, Dharmendra Singh (45), had threatened her with dire consequences for resisting his advances.
On the night of August 24, Singh forcibly entered the girl’s house, dragged her out, and subsequently murdered her. He also silenced the minor’s sister-in-law, who was present, to prevent her from seeking help. Singh’s accomplice, Dheeraj Singh (29), was also arrested. The victim’s family revealed that Singh had been harassing her consistently. Both accused were apprehended and sent to jail after appearing in court. An ongoing investigation is underway.
