Cyclone-Related Incidents Claim Six Lives in Chennai
Chennai witnessed at least six deaths in cyclone-related incidents on Monday as heavy rains and strong winds lashed the city. Among the victims, a 70-year-old man was found dead on a platform near Vaidyanathan flyover, and an unidentified woman aged around 60 was discovered dead at Foreshore Estate bus depot. Two individuals were buried under debris in a building site cave-in, with ongoing rescue efforts.
Another man, Ganesan, was electrocuted near his home in Pandian Nagar, while a 53-year-old named Bharat died in a wall collapse. Additionally, a man named R. Murugan was killed when a tree branch fell on him, and Padmanabhan was electrocuted while walking in knee-deep water on M.C. Road. The cyclone’s impact resulted in various incidents of damage and danger across the city.
