Crackdown on Banned Tobacco Products: 62 Arrested by Chennai Police
In a determined effort to combat the sale of prohibited tobacco products, the Greater Chennai City Police have arrested 62 individuals over the past 10 days. The crackdown carried out under the directive of City Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore, resulted in the seizure of 157.4 kg of gutkha and 1.21 kg of mava.
A total of 60 cases were registered by the police as part of their ongoing “Drive Against Banned Tobacco Products” campaign. Police inspectors are closely monitoring border areas to take swift action against those involved in the sale of banned tobacco items.
