CPI Leader Expelled as ED Raids Cooperative Bank in Kerala Scam
The Communist Party of India (CPI) faced a setback in Kerala as one of its top leaders, Bhasurangan, was expelled amid an ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at the Kandla Service Cooperative Bank.
The former president of the bank faced expulsion from the party after allegations of fraud totaling over Rs 100 crore surfaced. The ED’s raid continued for 27 hours, targeting multiple locations, including the homes of previous bank officials. The scandal adds to the trouble for the Left government, already under scrutiny for Cooperative bank scams in the state.
