Couple in Odisha Hacked to Death Over Witchcraft Allegations

In a tragic incident in Odisha’s Gajapati district, a couple was brutally hacked to death following allegations of practicing witchcraft. The victims, identified as Kapilendra and Sasmita Mallick, were residents of Ghodapanka village. According to reports, miscreants broke into their home while the couple was asleep and launched a deadly attack. Sasmita, before succumbing to her injuries, named two of the attackers.

This incident comes after Kapilendra had survived a gunshot attack on February 11, also linked to accusations of witchcraft. Police have detained 16 individuals in connection with the case and identified four as accused killers during the initial investigation.
