Convict’s Body Goes Missing from Kolkata Hospital Mortuary
In a shocking incident, the body of a convict, identified as Bablu Pollee, has gone missing from the mortuary of the state-run S.S.K.M. Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata. Pollee’s family alleges that he was beaten to death in custody and that his body parts were sold. Kolkata Police, on the other hand, claim that the body was mistakenly handed over to someone who performed the last rites.
Pollee was serving a prison sentence for the murder of his landlord. The family received news of his death on October 21 and were told that his body had been shifted to the S.S.K.M. mortuary.
However, when they arrived at the hospital, they couldn’t locate the body, and the hospital authorities offered no information. It was only on Thursday that the police informed the family that Pollee’s body had been given to someone by mistake. Hospital authorities have yet to comment on the matter.
