Consumers Seek Monthly Name Transfer Camps from Tangedco

Domestic consumers in Tamil Nadu are urging the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) to conduct name transfer camps at section offices on a monthly basis due to technical challenges with online document uploads. While Tangedco offers various online services, including bill payment and name transfers, consumers often encounter difficulties when uploading documents online.

Special name transfer camps have been beneficial to nearly 5 lakh consumers in the state since July 24, but there is concern that once these camps cease, consumers may have to rely on external agencies for the process. Consumer activists are suggesting that Tangedco conduct monthly name transfer camps, given that property transactions are continuous. Tangedco is working to simplify the online process in response to consumer complaints.
