Congress Slams Centre for Seeking Modification in 2G Case Verdict
The Congress launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government, accusing it of hypocrisy for seeking a modification of the Supreme Court’s verdict in the 2G spectrum case. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh criticized the Modi government, alleging that while it labeled the administrative allocation of 2G spectrum under the UPA as a “scam,” it was now seeking permission to allocate spectrum without an auction.
Ramesh accused the BJP of favoring crony capitalists and claimed that public resources worth Rs 4 lakh crore had already been handed over to corporate donors. He asserted that voters would oust the BJP in the upcoming elections, highlighting the need for a joint parliamentary committee to investigate alleged corruption, including the “Adani Mega Scam.”
