Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has released a ‘black paper’ against the Narendra Modi government, ahead of the tabling of the ‘white paper’ on the economy in Parliament. Kharge highlighted the failures of the government, emphasizing issues such as unemployment and discrimination against non-BJP states like Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana.
He criticized the BJP for allegedly endangering democracy by toppling Congress-led governments in various states. Kharge accused Prime Minister Modi of hiding failures during his parliamentary addresses and emphasized the importance of bringing attention to the government’s shortcomings through the ‘Black Paper.’
This move comes in response to the Central government’s announcement of a ‘White Paper’ to compare the economic performance of the Congress-led UPA government with that of the BJP-led NDA government over the past decade. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had earlier stated that the purpose of the ‘White Paper’ was to draw lessons from past mismanagement and assess the country’s economic trajectory.
