Congress President Kharge Rejects More DyCM Posts in Karnataka
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge dismissed the possibility of creating additional Deputy Chief Minister (DyCM) posts in Karnataka, stating that there is no proposal before the high command regarding this matter. Some party leaders in the state have been demanding more DyCM posts, a move seen as an attempt to balance power dynamics within the party.
Kharge emphasized that discussions about such matters should take place during elections, and the focus should be on governance and problem-solving. The demand for more DyCM posts has been growing, with leaders expressing varied opinions on the issue, including considerations for community representation.
The Congress President clarified that the priority should be the implementation of guarantee schemes. The matter is expected to be discussed further in the upcoming meeting on January 10 regarding the selection of Lok Sabha election candidates from Karnataka.
