Congress Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Prakash Hukkeri has refuted rumors about his interest in contesting Lok Sabha elections from Chikkodi in Belagavi district, Karnataka. Hukkeri, representing teachers in the Karnataka legislative council, stated that the reports were false and baseless. Emphasizing his commitment to serving teachers for another five years until the end of his term, Hukkeri dismissed the speculations surrounding his potential candidacy.

He expressed his determination not to contest Lok Sabha polls, even if asked by the high command or Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, highlighting his decision not to be pressured on the matter.
