Congress Hits Back at BJP’s Manifesto Criticism

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K. Selvaperunthagai fired back at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that they lack the moral authority to critique the Congress party’s election manifesto. Highlighting the BJP’s failure to deliver on promises made in their own manifestos, Selvaperunthagai criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration for unfulfilled pledges such as doubling GDP and eradicating black money. Moreover, he lambasted the BJP for neglecting farmers’ concerns, citing their failure to engage with protesting farmers and implement recommendations from the M.S. Swaminathan committee report.

Citing data from the National Crime Records Bureau, Selvaperunthagai underscored the dire plight of farmers under the BJP government, including a significant number of suicides and unfulfilled promises under the PM-KISAN scheme. Selvaperunthagai reaffirmed the Congress’s commitment to crafting practical solutions for the people, asserting that the BJP’s criticism is unwarranted given their own track record of unfulfilled promises and neglect of farmers’ welfare.
