Congress Criticizes Modi’s Wealth Redistribution Remark
The Congress has intensified its criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “redistribution of wealth” remark, stating that more than 40% of the wealth created in India from 2012 to 2021 has gone to just 1% of the population. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh emphasized that today, 21 billionaires combined have more wealth than 70 crore Indians.
He accused the Modi government of neglecting inclusive economic growth and allowing the monopolization of the economy, leading to higher inflation. Ramesh asserted that only an INDIA bloc government could deliver vastly more inclusive, sustainable, and faster economic growth.
