Completion Nears for U-Turn Flyover on OMR

The U-shaped flyover on Rajiv Gandhi Salai near Tidel Park is close to completion, with finishing touches like painting and electrical work underway. While the U-turn section is nearly ready, the arm landing on CSIR Road will require another three months due to utility relocations.

Challenges include numerous high-voltage cables that have complicated construction. The Tamil Nadu Road Development Company (TNRDC) also plans to upgrade stormwater drains in the area. Residents, like Suresh Subramaniam, praise the new flyover for reducing wait times and urge improvements for pedestrian safety and traffic management amid ongoing Metrorail work.
