Communal Riot in Nuh District: 6 Dead, 60 Injured, 116 Arrested
The Nuh district administration reported that six people have lost their lives, 60 others have been injured, and 116 individuals have been arrested in the aftermath of the violence that erupted in Nuh. The Haryana government disclosed that the victims included two home guards and four civilians.
The communal riot, which originated in Nuh on Monday and later spread to Gurugram on Tuesday, resulted in the filing of 26 FIRs at various police stations in Nuh. As a precautionary measure, Section 144 continues to be enforced in Nuh, Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal, and Jhajjar districts. The Nuh Deputy Commissioner, Prashant Panwar, assured that 14 companies of police force are on the ground to respond to any untoward incidents.
In response to the situation, educational institutions will remain closed until further notice. Although forces have been deployed in Gurugram, the current situation in the district is considered normal. Additionally, eight senior police officials across the state are closely monitoring the overall situation in the district to ensure swift action and stability.
