Chennai Metro Rail has recorded an average daily ridership of 2.6 lakh passengers over the past 10 days. On July 7, the service saw a particularly high ridership with 3.04 lakh passengers using the metro. CMRL officials attribute the increase in ridership to efforts made to improve last-mile connectivity, such as introducing mini-buses and electric autorickshaws at select stations.
These initiatives have attracted more commuters to choose the metro as a convenient mode of transportation. The consistent ridership numbers indicate the growing popularity and usage of the Chennai Metro Rail among the city’s residents.
