Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has obtained permissions from the Commissioner of Railway Safety and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to begin the construction of the viaduct at Kathipara junction for Phase II of the metro network. This corridor, part of the 116-km Phase II Project, will connect Madhavaram to Sholinganallur via Kathipara junction.
Despite challenges posed by existing infrastructure and flight paths, CMRL has received clearance to proceed with construction while ensuring safety and operational integrity. With these clearances in place, CMRL is gearing up to commence the viaduct work at Kathipara junction, a crucial step in expanding Chennai’s metro network.
