CM Siddaramaiah Challenges BJP MLA’s Terrorism Allegations Against Sufi Preacher
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah strongly rebuked BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal for leveling allegations of terror links against Muslim Sufi preacher Syed Tanveer Hashmi, also known as Tanveer Peera. Siddaramaiah challenged Yatnal to substantiate his claims, emphasizing that the BJP has been in power at the Centre for a decade, urging the MLA to initiate an investigation.
The Chief Minister highlighted his longstanding positive relationship with Tanveer Hashmi and accused Yatnal of engaging in hate politics for electoral gains. Siddaramaiah cautioned against playing divisive politics merely for winning elections and accused Yatnal of making false claims due to personal ambitions.
Yatnal, who had alleged connections between Tanveer Peera and the IS terror outfit, faced a strong rebuttal from Siddaramaiah, who questioned the timing of these accusations and the BJP’s actions during its years in power.
