CJI to Consider Vodafone-Idea’s Plea on AGR Dues Errors
Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud agreed to consider listing Vodafone-Idea’s plea to correct alleged computational errors in Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) dues. Senior advocate Harish Salve, representing the telecom service provider, highlighted the issue before the Chief Justice.
The Supreme Court had previously dismissed similar pleas in July 2021, viewing them as attempts to recalculate AGR dues under the guise of correcting arithmetical errors. This follows the apex court’s September 2020 judgment, which mandated annual 10% instalments on AGR dues until 2031.
