Over the last five months, the Civil Supplies CID has intensified its efforts to combat smuggling of essential commodities, particularly PDS rice, kerosene, and cooking gas. A total of 3,660 cases have been booked, resulting in the seizure of significant quantities of essential goods valued at over Rs. 1 crore. Additionally, 3,794 individuals involved in these illegal activities have been apprehended, and 568 vehicles used for smuggling have been confiscated.
The CID has also conducted 16 coordination committee meetings with Revenue and Police officials from neighboring states to prevent cross-border smuggling. The public is encouraged to report any illegal activities through a toll-free contact number, enabling swift legal action to be taken.
