City Police Busts Ganja Smuggling Ring from Thailand
In a significant crackdown, a special team of the City Police apprehended three individuals involved in smuggling and distributing high-quality ganja from Thailand. The operation, led by Additional Commissioner of Police (North) Asra Garg, targeted the network responsible for receiving parcels of ganja from Thailand and circulating them across the city.
The arrested individuals, including a 65-year-old resident of Mangadu named Shanmugaraj, were found to be receiving the illicit substance disguised as medicines or chocolates. The investigation revealed the involvement of individuals who regularly visited Thailand as couriers, highlighting the sophisticated nature of the operation. With over one kilogram of ganja seized, the authorities have effectively disrupted this smuggling ring, signaling a significant victory in the fight against drug trafficking in the city.
