Amid growing tensions, China has firmly rebuked NATO’s accusations of enabling Russia’s war against Ukraine, asserting its fair stance on the conflict. In a bold statement, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian criticized NATO for seeking security at others’ expense and warned against bringing European-style chaos to Asia. Highlighting China’s legitimate trade with Russia under WTO rules, Lin underscored China’s concern over NATO’s expanding ties with Asia-Pacific nations.
He urged NATO to cease meddling in China’s internal affairs and to avoid destabilizing the region after causing turmoil in Europe. Lin emphasized that China’s recent military drills with Belarus are routine and not aimed at any specific country.
