Chikkamagaluru Police Clamp Down on Tourist Misconduct

In response to increasing reports of public nuisance and reckless behavior by tourists, Chikkamagaluru police have initiated a special drive targeting mass dancing on roads, open alcohol consumption, and rash driving. Led by Sub-Inspector Renuka D.V., the Banakal Police booked 20 cases under the Karnataka Police Act and seized multiple vehicles involved in such activities.

Additional cases were registered for public smoking and driving under the influence. Superintendent of Police Vikram Amathe emphasized the need for visitors to adhere to local regulations, avoid public alcohol consumption, and respect designated parking areas to ensure a harmonious environment for both tourists and locals.
