Chennai’s Comprehensive Mosquito Control Initiative
In an effort to curb the spread of dengue, the Chennai Corporation is launching a comprehensive mosquito control drive across the city. Led by Mayor R. Priya, the initiative will deploy 3,278 workers to inspect and eliminate mosquito breeding sites in residential and commercial buildings.
Additionally, 400 workers will focus on stormwater drains, while 128 will target waterways. The campaign also includes enhancing medical services at primary and community health centers. This proactive approach underscores the city’s commitment to public health and dengue prevention.
