Chennai Witnesses Over 20% Voter Turnout by 11 a.m., Top Leaders Cast Their Votes

As of 12 p.m., the voter turnout in the three Parliamentary constituencies of Chennai surpassed 20%, announced District Election Officer J. Radhakrishnan. Despite some initial issues, the polling process has been peaceful across the city. However, many voters in North Chennai, particularly in Egmore and Perambur, complained about their names missing from the electoral rolls. While senior citizens and persons with disabilities were provided assistance, first-time voters turned up in large numbers across Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, and Tiruvannamalai districts.

Among the notable voters were Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Governor R.N. Ravi, who urged citizens to participate in the democratic process enthusiastically. BJP South Chennai candidate Tamilisai Soundrajan and other prominent personalities also cast their votes. Despite initial delays due to technical glitches, voting proceeded smoothly in Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Arakkonam, and Arani Lok Sabha constituencies.
