The Greater Chennai Police (GCP) dismantled an international human trafficking network that deceived women from Tamil Nadu with false job promises abroad, only to force them into sex work. The racket, targeting impoverished women through misleading advertisements for hospitality jobs in West Asia, was exposed after one victim’s complaint led to a thorough investigation.
Authorities arrested three agents, including a woman, who facilitated the trafficking. Seized evidence included mobile phones, job adverts, and coerced contracts. Efforts are underway to apprehend four primary suspects hiding overseas. The operation highlights the ongoing battle against human trafficking and exploitation in the region.
