Chennai Police Apprehend Four in Ganja Smuggling Operation
In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, a specialized team from the R.K. Nagar Police in Chennai arrested four individuals on Sunday for their involvement in smuggling ganja. Among the apprehended, three had a history of engaging in the illicit trade of ganja and other narcotics, with multiple pending cases against them.
Acting on intelligence indicating their possession of ganja, the special police team successfully rounded up the suspects. The arrested individuals were identified as J. Johnson of Korukkupet, K. Gunasekaran of Mathur, N. Nagaraj of Manali, and S. Surya, also known as Manikandan, of Pulianthope. In a coordinated operation, law enforcement seized nearly 5 kg of ganja and four two-wheelers utilized for the smuggling activities.
Following their arrest, all four accused were presented before a judicial magistrate and subsequently remanded to prison, underscoring the authorities’ commitment to curbing the illegal drug trade in the region.
