Chennai Regional Passport Officer S. Koventhan has urged passport applicants to utilize the DigiLocker process during online submissions. Completing the “DigiLocker” process of uploading necessary supporting documents can significantly reduce overall processing time and facilitate smooth document verification at Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) and Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs).
When applicants upload the required documents through DigiLocker, they won’t need to carry the original documents to the PSKs/POPSKs. The Ministry has also increased the acceptance of the “Aadhaar document” through DigiLocker during online submissions.
If “Aadhaar” is submitted as proof of address or date of birth, applicants are advised to complete the “DigiLocker upload” document process on the portal. Embracing this digital approach streamlines the passport application process, benefiting applicants and expediting document verification procedures.
