Chennai Metro Rail Takes Measures to Address Screeching Noises

Amid complaints from passengers regarding screeching noises and rumbling in certain sections of the Chennai Metro Rail system, officials have reassured commuters that steps are being taken to address the issue. These noises, primarily heard when trains negotiate sharp curves, have prompted concerns among regular users.

To tackle this, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has implemented measures such as installing lubrication mechanisms on both trains and tracks. Lubrication sticks have been utilized to enhance rail-wheel interaction, while periodic rail grinding is carried out to minimize wear and tear. Additionally, routine maintenance checks ensure that the lubrication systems are functioning optimally, aiming to provide commuters with a smoother and quieter ride throughout the metro network.
