Chennai Metro Rail Services Disrupted, Passengers Face Inconvenience

Hundreds of passengers in Chennai faced disruption and delays in their commute as technical glitches caused a halt in Chennai Metro Rail services during rush hours. The disruption occurred between Little Mount and Chennai Airport, leading to the suspension of services for a brief period. The stations, particularly Chennai Central and Alandur Metro Rail stations, were crowded with passengers awaiting trains.

The issue arose from a technical glitch in the overhead electric line near Guindy Metro Rail station around 8 a.m. As a result, changes were made in the train services, with single-line operation from Little Mount to Arignar Anna Alandur Metro and normal services from Wimco Nagar Depot to Little Mount in the Blue Line. Later, between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., train services were stopped between Little Mount and Chennai Airport, operating only between Little Mount and Wimco Nagar Depot.
