Chennai Corporation Initiates Pothole Repair on 4,000 Flood-Damaged Roads
Chennai Corporation has commenced repair work on approximately 4,034 roads that were damaged during the recent floods. Corporation Commissioner J. Radhakrishnan flagged off vehicles carrying cold mix at Ripon Buildings, signaling the beginning of efforts to fix 87 bus route roads and 4,034 interior roads across different zones in the city.
The repair initiative comes after heavy rainfall led to potholes and damage in various areas. Kodambakkam zone reported the highest number of damaged roads, with 1,056 identified for repair. Residents have been urged to report hazardous potholes, with officials emphasizing the need for prompt repairs to prevent accidents on the affected stretches.
