Chennai Airport to Introduce Passenger-Friendly Police for Enhanced Assistance
The Greater Chennai City Police (GCP) is set to introduce passenger-friendly police personnel at Chennai Airport, providing a warm reception and guidance to both domestic and international travelers. While the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) manages security inside the terminal, GCP officers will cover the outer areas, including newly developed facilities like multi-level parking and Metrorail stations.
The move aims to facilitate, guide, and ensure the safety and security of passengers in the outer periphery. Specially-trained police personnel will wear jackets and possess communication facilities, assisting passengers with information on hotel rates, taxi services, and addressing any complaints of overcharging or misbehavior by taxi drivers. Additionally, helpdesks operated by city police personnel will be set up to further aid passengers.
