Charminar Controversy: KTR Leads Opposition Against Emblem Change
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao vehemently opposes the Telangana government’s decision to exclude Charminar and Kakatiya Arch from the new state emblem, scheduled to launch on June 2. Leading a protest at Charminar alongside party legislators, KTR questions the haste in changing the emblem and accuses the Congress of attempting to erase K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s legacy.
He pledges legal action and a people’s movement against the decision, emphasizing the historical and cultural significance of Charminar and Kakatiya Arch. Meanwhile, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy defends the emblem change, citing the need for symbols reflecting Telangana’s struggle for statehood, despite opposition from KTR and others.
