Charas smuggling in Perambur station 3 arrested by Railway police
Three individuals have been apprehended at Perambur railway station by the Greater Chennai Police for smuggling 20.5 kg of charas from Nepal, valued at ₹1 crore. The arrests and seizure came after a special team, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police I. Eswaran, received a tip-off and conducted surveillance around the railway station.
The suspects, who had traveled via the Sanghamitra Express from Bihar, were intercepted while waiting for an autorickshaw. 20 kg of charas and 300 mg of ganja oil were found in their boxes. The arrested individuals have been identified as Upendra Kumar (30) from Bihar, and Ramchander (35) and Muskanja (20) from Nepal.
