Challenges Plague Devotees’ Experience at Medaram Jatara
The Medaram Samakka-Saralamma (Sarakka) Jatara in Mulugu district witnesses widespread grievances from devotees, primarily due to poor traffic management and inadequate amenities. Complaints abound regarding the issuance of VVIP and VIP passes, causing prolonged waiting times for the general public seeking darshan at the tribal shrine.
Despite police claims of halting TSRTC buses for ventilation, devotees experience significant delays on routes to Hanamkonda due to congestion, stretching over 15 kilometers. Drivers express frustration over the lack of effective traffic control measures and the limited availability of towing machines. The simultaneous presence of various vehicles exacerbates the situation, with devotees enduring hours-long waits.
Additionally, shortcomings in queue management and the absence of basic facilities like drinking water further compound the challenges faced by pilgrims, highlighting the need for improved logistical arrangements in future editions of the biennial fair.
