Efthikar Ahamed, an Assistant Professor at the Central University of Kerala (CUK), was arrested by the Taliparamba police in Kannur for allegedly sexually harassing a woman at a water theme park in Kannur. The 51-year-old professor was accused of treating the 22-year-old woman rudely and molesting her while she was in the wave pool.
The incident led to his arrest and remand in Kannur Central Jail. This is not the first time Dr. Ahamed has been involved in such allegations. In November 2023, he was accused of conducting inappropriate lectures and molesting a female student, leading to his suspension from the university. Despite protests by students, he was recently reinstated and transferred to the Integrated Teacher Education Programme.
