Central Teams Brief Chief Minister on Cyclone and Drought Impact in Andhra Pradesh
Two central teams visited Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at his camp office in Tadepalli to provide insights into the impact of cyclone and drought conditions in different districts of Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister highlighted the proactive measures taken by the State government, such as timely evacuation from low-lying areas to prevent casualties and relief efforts in the aftermath of the cyclone.
Officials are currently assessing the damage, and a list of affected farmers will be compiled and displayed at village secretariats. The Chief Minister assured transparent financial assistance to affected farmers and urged the central teams to ensure liberal financial support from the Centre. The teams commended the state’s efficient response to prevent loss of life and lauded initiatives like the e-cropping system.
The drought team presented observations from their visits to various districts, emphasizing the need to encourage farmers to cultivate alternative commercial crops. The Chief Minister urged the teams to expedite the payment of pending bills by the Centre to the state. Key officials from various departments were present during the briefing.
