CDS Anil Chauhan Advocates for Major Reforms in Armed Forces
On the 25th anniversary of the Kargil conflict, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan emphasized the need for the Indian armed forces to abandon outdated practices and embrace new ones. He highlighted that the tri-services are on the brink of significant reforms, which will encompass organizational, structural, conceptual, and cultural changes aimed at enhancing combat efficiency and readiness.
General Chauhan underlined the importance of learning from the Kargil War, ensuring that the sacrifices made are honored and that past mistakes are not repeated. He stressed that these reforms must be tailored to the unique Indian environment and its specific challenges.
