CBI Arrests Four for Trafficking Indians into Russia-Ukraine War
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested four individuals in connection with a case related to the trafficking of Indian nationals for combat roles in the Russian Army. Arun and Yesudas Junior from Thiruvananthapuram, along with Nijil Jobi Bensam from Kanyakumari and Anthony Michael Elangovan from Mumbai, were apprehended for their involvement in the human trafficking network.
The victims were promised lucrative jobs abroad but were instead trained in combat roles and deployed at front bases in the Russia-Ukraine war zone against their wishes. Investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals involved in the trafficking network.
