Tadepalli police have registered a case against Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Government Advisor and YSR Congress Party General Secretary, for allegedly making statements intended to disrupt the vote counting process.
The FIR, based on a complaint by TDP legal cell general secretary Gudapati Lakshmi Narayana, cites violations of Sections 153 and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 125 of the Representation of People Act. Mr. Reddy’s remarks, made during a meeting on May 29, allegedly incited party activists to overpower opponents, risking violence during vote counting on June 4. This action is seen as a breach of the Model Code of Conduct.
