Canadian PM Trudeau’s Return from India Faces Further Delays as Substitute Plane Diverted to London
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has been stranded in New Delhi due to a technical issue with his aircraft, is facing further delays as the substitute plane dispatched from Canada was diverted to London, according to reports. Trudeau had attended the G20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi on September 9-10. The reason for the unexpected rerouting of the CC-150 Polaris aircraft, intended to fly Trudeau to New Delhi via Rome, has not been explained.
If the original or replacement Airbus plane is deemed safe, Trudeau may opt to return on one of them. However, if neither is available, another aircraft will be arranged for his return. Trudeau’s usual plane has experienced previous issues, including a 2016 incident that grounded it for 16 months. An email seeking details from the Prime Minister’s office remained unanswered at the time of this report.
