Canada’s British Columbia Premier Raises Concerns Over Lack of Information on Khalistani Leader’s Killing

David Eby, the Premier of Canada’s British Columbia province, has voiced concerns about the federal government’s withholding of information regarding allegations of foreign interference in the killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Eby noted that while the Public Safety Minister expressed a desire for the province to have the necessary details to ensure the safety of its residents, there has been inadequate information sharing.

He called a briefing with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) director “frustrating” as no concrete information was provided. Eby emphasized the importance of federal intelligence to better address the concerns of diaspora communities and protect against foreign interference. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently mentioned “credible allegations” related to Indian agents potentially being linked to Nijjar’s killing.
