A youth in Karnataka’s Davanagere district was brutally attacked, allegedly in response to misbehavior with a girl, triggering condemnation from parents, Hindu activists, and demands for action against the attackers. Srinivas, a resident of Jalinagar in Davanagere city, was assaulted by a group on Sunday evening, who then left him in an isolated location.
While the youth is undergoing treatment, his family and Hindu activists claim that the police have not taken action against the culprits. Hindu activists argue that it appears to be a case of moral policing and demand the arrest of the attackers, emphasizing that if the youth had misbehaved, due process should have been followed instead of a violent assault.
