BRS Leader K. Kavitha Sent to Judicial Custody in Corruption Case
A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of BRS leader K. Kavitha until April 23 in connection with a corruption case linked to the alleged Delhi Excise policy scam. Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana CM K. Chandrashekar Rao, was arrested from Tihar Jail following her detention by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) presented Kavitha before the court after the expiration of her previous three-day police custody.
During her incarceration, CBI officials interrogated Kavitha regarding WhatsApp chats recovered from a co-accused’s phone and documents related to a land deal allegedly connected to kickbacks paid to influence the Excise policy.
