The Telangana government has introduced the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme for students attending government schools across the state. State ministers inaugurated the program at various schools in different districts, with the scheme set to be implemented statewide after the Dasara holidays.
Approximately 23 lakh students studying in 67,147 government schools will receive breakfast 45 minutes before the start of classes, featuring a nutritious menu that includes idli sambar, wheat rava, upma chutney, puri, aaloo khorma, tomato bhath, khichdi, and Pongal. The scheme, costing an additional Rs 400 crore annually to the state exchequer, aims to support poor families and enhance students’ focus on their studies.
